I'm just curious and a little worried about my chicks. They are 6 weeks old now and today they were moved to their new coop outside. I've had them out before during the day and would take them back to their brooder for nite time, but how do these new chicks know to go into the coop and sleep on the perch? Right now they are laying in front of it taking a nap. LOL but not going in. My coop doesn't have a door (getting one later) but should I put them in there and block it until morning? Will be 45 degrees tonight and I think they can handle that.....or just let them figure it out? HELP

Many people recommend keeping new chicks confined to the coop for their first week after relocation from the brooder. This helps them associate the coop as their new home which tends to make them retreat there at sunset. Has always worked for me.
