First night out of the brooder in the coop

Here is the snake we killed right before we went to bed last night.

It was over 4 feet long. So nerve wracking because I know there are a few places a snake might be able to get in. They are over 5' up but snakes can climb. And there is always a chance of a snake getting through chicken wire. So that will always be a concern.

I had to cover the nesting boxes a few days ago because they found them and thought it was a great place to play.

Nope. They can get themselves into things. It's like having toddlers around.

Glad to hear it went well. Sure can be stressful on us. LOL!

They are starting to climb on everything the past few days. Coop may need a little more "chick proofing" so the don't get into anything they shouldn't.

in the transitional coop one jumps onto my arm or back, and the others will get into / onto everything. They are now very used to use holding them. yay!
