First night out of the brooder

Well my little girls & boy (possibly more) spent their first night in there new digs last night! I dont know who got less sleep them or me! it was a success! (Even though I couldn't have picked a worse night not knowing there was a storm coming) It was very windy and there wasn't one draft! Super happy about that! I went out this morning and spent some time in there and everyone is doing great! Phew... here are a couple of snaps from this mornings coffee date. (For me not them)

I'm glad there doing well, And yes the storms are bad! I was worried all night. (Last night) Because the wind was so bad, and i'm hatching chicks. I hope it does not get to a point were the power runs out, and I have to save my batch.

I could use feeders like that myself. Then I wouldn't spill things down the front of my blouses anymore.

They were super easy to make! I You Tubed it. I have little flat rocks in front of them now because they are still a bit short for them. The Brahmas can reach on their own.

The pics are wonderful!! Love the feeders, I am setting up to make some myself and looking at some possibilities. I loose sleep the first night as well, unless I am sure it will be warm enough out. So I know how you feel.

It's been so cold at night here so its like 20° cooler outside then when they were in the basement. I put a heat lamp in there just create a little warm spot at night. Once the nights are warmer I'll take it out. Its probably more for my own peice of mind.

Good to hear it's not just me. We moved ours to coop on Sun and it stormed. I was outside in pj's and umbrella shining a flashlight in the coop window to check on them. I'm pretty sure I woke the poor things up
