So I finally got the dog run predator-proofed and ready for teh banty chicks. After an afternoon in their outdoor playpen, instead of putting them back in their indoor pen, I put them in the dog run. At first they were fine, but as the sun started to go down they started FREAKING out. I was afraid they were drawing unnecessary attention to themselves, so I decided to help settle them down. They were afraid of the dog house, even though I put a 25w light bulb in there for them. So, as it gradually got darker, they slowly started creeping closer to me and trying to fly into my arms. I decided to sit down and cuddle them and eventually they all made their way to my lap! It was so cute. They instantly calmed down once I started hovering over them with my arms like a mama hen would, and then when I was ready to go in I stuck them in the dog house and they're doing great!
