I have 2 chickens aprox 14 weeks old and 6 chicks that are aprox 6 weeks. They free range all day together but were sleeping in separate coops. I put them all in the same coop tonight. Should I be worried?

Hi, I am on pins and needles myself. First night for mine in the coop together as well. mine are 5 bantams (adults) and six 6/7 week old standard size chicks. How did yours get along together outside?....my older ones mostly ignored the younger until they got too close, then the rooster or one of the hens would give a half hearted rebuke. :0) I locked them all in together about an hour ago. Last check adults were up on their roost and babies on another. I'm nervous. ...how bout you? :0)

Outside is pretty much the same here.. Every once in a while, the big hen and roo will bully over food or dirt. My chicks never go to the inside, they are safe. The two bigger chicks are upstairs, little guys are downstairs. I did have the little guys with ducklings, but I felt like they needed to be with chickens lol. I'm VERY nervous.

Im getting ready to go back out and see how everyone is doing.... It is really windy and chilly tonight so I locked them in. I didn't want the babes to get forced out into the cold by chance. But I'm nervous that they can't get free if they want to :0/

Just checked on mine, everyone is knocked out! Asleep that is! Lol I'll be up at dawn to open the door! Good luck! Keep me posted. ;0)

Woohoo! Everyone here seems to be good too! Just went out and still sound asleep on the roosts. Night one accomplished! ;)

Poor duckies..lol they are probably wondering what happend. Do they have totally separate runs/living area? Question, do you do different type of housing for ducks? Or a coop like chickens?
