I know and I forgot to weight him, I think I might pull it out to grab a weight. I thought I would be upset, I have never killed anything, but I'm okay with it. Hope he's yummy

6lbs isnt a bad weight. I dont have a scale, what did you use? I have a normal human scale, but i dont know if it will weigh for that low lol.

How are you roasting him? Spices? Are you going to eat him in quarters or use the meat over alfredo or salad?

Oh gosh, now Im hungry!

What did you feed them in the beginning? What did you finish them on? Ive got one more week and Im wondering if I should be feeding them a slightly richer diet to increase the flavor.

I just held him and weight me and the bird them me, lol

I'm just roasting him with olive oil and random spices. Then either mashed potatoes or oven roasted with carrots.

All my birds were on chick started, medicated (only one my feed store has) crumble the pellet. Then once they were about a month we got turkeys and we have layers, we started feeding them all multi-flock which has a higher protein, and mixed cracked corn. And all the kitchen scrap anyone would give us!! They love cranberrys!!!

I was thinking of giving them corn. Mine are terrified of anything that isnt in the feed bucket.

I like your weight idea, Im going to use that.

Ive got 3 heritage light sussex cockerels that are around 3 months old, and I have 10 meaties. I wonder who will taste better? The cockerels have been on grower feed for the past 2 months, but the meaties have been on grower for the past 2 weeks.

Idk, we have all chickens and turkeys in the same coop, so when we got the turkeys they said they needed higher protein feed. So for a while the turkeys were separate until they got bigger. Once they went all together it was hard to feed them different things so everyone got multi flock. But once the turkeys are processes I will switch my layers to a layer feed.
