Within an hour of letting our ducks out of the pen this morning, something got our ducks. One we found under a tree beat up pretty bad. Has wounds but seems to be walking ok. The other I don’t think is going to make it. I’m sick about it. I know this is common but I’m so attached to these guys.:hit. it happened in broad daylight. Needless to say l, we now have a .22 in the pen and I’m settting up a trail cam.

So sorry for your loss. :hit

I'm so very sorry, I hope both of your babies pull through and recover.
Was driving through a wooded area the other day and had an owl fly right in front of my car carrying a mouse. About 11am and sunny outside when I didn't think they were active. Not sure but guessing it was a young owl that hadn't found any food overnight.
I hope your babies stay safe and the predator doesn't return. They are such pretty ducks :)
