First Rain! Sort of...

So we finally have some precipitation here in California. Actual rain is in the forecast for this afternoon, but right now it’s just a slight drizzle and my flock is acting like a bunch of whomps, hanging out in the coop, even though I pitched a tarp over 2/3 of the run and it is dry underneath. The only one not phased by it is Buttercup, my Light Brahma. I don’t get it. Last year I spent many weekend days in my galoshes and umbrella so they could run around in the rain and free range. I guess they forgot!

Wishing moderate rain for California. From a distance (the other coast) I am concerned about the impact of excessive rain on the fire damaged areas.

You most certainly need some rain. Hopefully, just enough.

Thanks, everyone. Yes, much needed rain. @sourland is right, though, too much could be a problem for the fire areas. Two years ago when we had record rains, the fire scars were mud slides.
