I would guess they are what TSC said they were, They do have the CX body, but the size is wrong at the age for CXs'. You are probably the only person in the country that got the birds labeled correctly from TSC.![]()
When I see your pictures I see CX's , I have a white rock (the Hussy) she looks nothing like yours. She is smaller too, she was raised as a layer so she got free will food. She is not a "food hog" like my CX's.
Pictures are deceiving sometimes, but they look like great eating. Grats on a good job raising them. They had a great life and now they have that one bad day.
LOL now I need to find me two real CX. One roo and one hen. The idea of breeding my own meat birds has sold me. Does anyone know wear I can order just a few chicks? The TSC only sells them in spring here. Most places want you to get a group of them all at once. I just don't have room for 20 chicks at one time and the city said I could only have a total of 20 birds at once. Since the family and I decided to breed them . There is no culling them now till they are sick or die of natural causes. I'm glad to know the risk of heart attack and other health issues is not as grate as in the CX. When I first told Wendy we got the wrong kind of birds she called the TSC and they told her that they were Leghorns and they couldn't sell CX here. But they change their story from buying them to the call we made. So I don't know what to believe from them. I think they look like all the CX picks I've seen but if you look at a Plymouth Rock the chicks do look the same. So confused. But no matter I love them and hope to get a few CX to raise as well then
