First Run of Cornish Cross Meat Birds and Super Excited!

Everyone has different ways of dealing with problem neighbors. Ive found in my opinion they have to much time on their hands. So I give them " other " things to think about.

I had one that came up a few years back wanted to introduce himself and be a GOOD NEIGHBOR.
I did not shake his hand. I told him the only GOOD NEIGHBORS I had were the ones I hadn't met.

Out of 8 neighbors i talk to two. It's been my experience that if you wave or talk to people they want to come over and visit or borrow something. Of the two I do talk to. I threatened one while holding a rifle with certain death if he didn't STOP MOWING MY YARD. Lol. I use a push mower. He was just trying to help. He brought it up the other day,we laughed. But what I said was still in effect.

Alaska has been on my bucket list for over a decade, so very excited - I'm having fun planning what we'll do and where we'll go. The problem is...there is so MUCH of it, and so MUCH to do, that I'm having trouble deciding. Definitely on my list - finding Alaskan Chickens and checking out their coops - I figure if they can survive in it in Alaska they can survive in it in WI (with some modification for our 105 heat index days).

Jessica - WOW - that's all I can say. We have a 'special neighbor' too, but thankfully I'm very far away and out of sight of him. I can't imagine having to put up with it. I applaud you for sticking to your guns and working the system. It's too bad the removing the named chicken to pasture and removing egg privileges would likely only exacerbate the situation...sigh.

If you make it to little Petersburg, Alaska you will have arrived in my home town. My son is there working now for the summer.

This situation is so frustrating. We have been cordial and good neighbors for 10 years. We reached our breaking point and finally put our foot down and the spoiled brat came out with her. I feel like a flashback to when my daughter was 13 and we were having screaming arguments with her. I think my neighbor has never been crossed. People have always just done what she wanted so she doesn't know how to deal with someone saying no. It made her lose her mind.

Frankly in the end, we will be fine because we aren't breaking any laws, sans number of chickens, and we already have pasture space to move them to. Now her home business on the other hand is in much more trouble right now because of the can of worms she opened on herself. You reap what you sow.

Word to the wise: If you aren't following your zoning laws don't turn in your neighbors for not following zoning laws.

Good news everyone. I have sold my geese, ducks and Welsummer Trio!! I also gave away 26 chickens that I will be able to see you regularly since they are a family and friends. We are keeping about 20 layers and Mike oceans and a pair of Muscovy and our turkeys at my grandpas. Sadly my aunt went in cause some more trouble and decided she wanted to keep 20 of the hands instead and we take 10. But that and a quick we're taking as many as we want in the end she can have the rest. Sadly there going to be living 50 miles from where the chickens are. Alright no I'll be back in 2 weeks to come get on because they can take care of them and but that's okay with me. I'm super disappointed but we are going to start building our flock backup and and will get more geese next spring. So if people stay true I will have made a hundred and twelve bucks off of my birds and that's only not even half of them. Inam going to keep one of the pekin ducklings. It has a lamp and I'm not comfortable selling hurt birds. I am excited because my guess pekins and wellsummers are going to be going to a breeder and be put to good use.
