Sorry - I meant to direct my response to Morrigan mostly. But yes, there is a LOT of good info over there. I have an old asphalt pad in my yard (I think it was a carport in the distant past), and rather than bemoaning it or do the backbreaking work to remove it, I plan to use it for either a duck house and/or aquaponics tank.

My continues water flow idea is to have a pond with two out let's call them streams one going preferably down hill but wrapping back around to somewhere near the pond where a two wheel mill will be one wheel will be powered by the water the second will carry the water to a
Higher ellivation or ramp that will go to a stream that leads back to the pond hope fully creating a flow keeping the water decently clean and rain will refill

A pond up here is called an Ice rink in the winter and worthless to ducks. Geese are worthless year round. Not that I would diss a waterfowl on purpose, I just see I have no other choice!

Maybe not, but I had geese, and I passed kidney stones twice, The stones were a picnic compared to the geese.

I have not had a problem with the geese. They annoy the neighbors with the yipping dog and will NOT let anyone get close to me.

If I ever get geese again, I will get a boat plug, and shove it up their butts before I let them walk around,,,,, And maybe a muzzle too.
