First Run of Cornish Cross Meat Birds and Super Excited!

The slow grow broilers,8 days till camp. Trying to pick out the ones to hold back. kinda hard. THEY'RE ALL WHITE

thinking a paint ball gun.lol

In all seriousness, get a sharpie marker. I did that with the neurologically abnormal chick in the brooder because I thought she was blind and I needed to be able to lay eyes on her quickly in a sea of fluff. She got a big purple dot on her head, lasted for weeks. I would imagine the same thing would work for white feathers...

well today is the day. getting a late start. got the cooler cleaned up. a bucket for chilling, fire built and water is heating up.
I felt a little sad at first but after chasing them all over creation and penning them up in a holding coop,I'm looking for some PAY BACK!!

They can in no way be compared to regular CX. I'm sparing some hensfor eggs. After I get some leghorns they too will go to camp. might keep a couple. U also held back the two best looking Cockrels.

They remind me of the chicken you get from Popeye's. I'm guessing around 4-lbs a piece. Won't be going the slow grow route again. After 12weeks. and the amount of feed I went through they are just not worth it. They were VERY fat. The gizzards were totally encased in fat.
