First Run of Cornish Cross Meat Birds and Super Excited!

That's what I am breeding to stop. I want the big  huge thighs and legs to go with the breasts.  I am sure my Thanksgiving chicken will go 15 pounds or better on the table.
oh oh!!! I have 3 small "funny looking " for the breed. They are fully feathered and run around crazy chasing bugs. Any suggestions on breed of rooster for them? I'm a cheapskate and want to feed my family better food for less money. Plus I like to experiment with chicken breeds. I have 3 incubators and a habitually broody hen so I can set enough eggs to truly test the match of breeds.

Ive got a two day window before my next out of town job starts and a million things to get done. First is installing a nipple water system, primarily for the chicks in the outside brooder. I also have around 100 hybrids I need to send to freezer camp. Doubt If I can get THAT done. Dr's appointment first thing this morning, then brush hog 4-1/2 acres. After that I have to mow my front yard 1-1/2 acres with a push mower :(
The hybrids will probably get a pass.
Being out of town for the last two months has turned my place into a jungle

so let it

grow for another couple months. So long as you can find the door.

Got 23 Dominiques this morning to use as you did the Barred Rocks.

Looking forward to seeing these grow. I got all cockerels and will

be caponizing all but the best breed prospects, as best can be told

5 or 6 weeks.

The best laid schemes O' mice an' men, Gang aft a-gley.
Went to use the shop compressor and noticed the pressure switch was leaking....went and bought a new one....then noticed the 220vt line feed from the motor to said switch had lost ALL the insulation on both legs of the 220. How it didn't short out,OR electrocute me can only be explained as the will of GOD. Bare wires practically touching...Thank You Lord. Needless to say didn't get any of the planned chores done. Hybrids are NOT going to freezer camp any time soon. A monsoon blew in,now its too wet to brush hog or mow. Should have the compressor rewired and plumbed in the morning.....I hope..
