First Run of Cornish Cross Meat Birds and Super Excited!

Ha you might be right JR, the chick in the pic is a hybrid x hybrid which I'm calling Bishop Ranger.

The Marans cross are about the same size but without the meat on them.
Will be interesting to see if any look like your beauty

that chick is showing some real promise, holly cow or should I say, holly chicken! i bet the conversion rate of feed to meet at two weeks is amazing.

I'm hatching easter chicks right now. I was surprised (don't know why) to see one feather legged chick. Looks like "Elvis" my blue Cochin is a dad. Trying to sneak it into the not for sale bin....

I tell you I could put a stick through the Bishop Rangers, put them on the BBQ and they would feed 2 people at only 2 weeks old.

The Marans crosses are just as big but without as much Breast meat already.

I love cornish game hens, so I process them early. That chick has pretty good bone, but lighter than what I would expect a cockbird's to be. Do you think its a pullet?

Some of my first batch of 20 meat birds. They are 4 weeks old and are fed fermented feed. Very active, flying and running around.

Yes a Pullet, she's not the biggest just one I randomly picked up.

Having problems with my heat lamp today, so they are all back in my little brooder overnight.
They are 2 weeks today and quite well feathered so it won't kill them for one night.
