Are you zoned for your chickens? If you are I'd tell her molting is a natural process as is the spring shedding of her horses. Tell her you are willing to ignore the clumps of horse hair that sometimes make their way to your property if she'll forgive a few feathers. Horses are smart enough to eat around the feathers yet dumb enough to pee in their own pile of hay. I have horses and chickens right next to each other. Do I find feathers in the water? Yes. Have the horses had problems? No.

So many good responses. I also talked to another lady that has horses and 57 chickens with no problem with feathers. She thought this argument was crazy. My neighbor's problem is she wants to impress anyone that comes to her house and herself and her "horse people" are elite fancy pants that would be offended by such things. I feel like someone can't visit the country without being offended by feathers and/or manure smell should not be visiting the country!!

She said today that she will just get a bid to put a solid fence separating us. Awesome I say!

Yes, I'm in the county and can have chickens, actually a considerable number with the amount of acreage that I have. I do admit that I am pushing the number just a tad. However, my group will be moving to rented pasture within a couple of weeks when we have their chicken tractor built.

She knows this is temporary but is just being petty. I think that no one ever disagrees with her and she thinks that she is better than all. I think she just wants to control her environment and she forgets that over the fence is MY environment, not hers. I totally would have attempted to clean up the feathers if she would have just asked instead of being a complete B (female dog) as Ralph would say.

Put up a suggestion box on your fence for her.

I would wrap the box in such a way that this picture lines up with the "drop slot"




It should help her get the idea.

Really, the woman is not absolutely horrible. She can be very nice and supportive when she wants to be but intermixed are her complaints about everything. You almost miss all the complaints until they are about you. All I know is that I don't have time to rake feathers with everything that I have to do every day and I really just don't see the problem.

Maybe I should call her the Waaambulance.

Just wait her out. You'll be able to decrease your birds soon. If she wants to build a fence, so be it. Unfortunately, my mama was one of those. Her favorite saying was "My way or the highway". She died at 84 still saying it. But by then, her money was gone and she had no way to back up her threats.

These are toads. Notice how much the one looks like Bert. The dark toads turned into barred toads. The white toads look just like CX's. All the birds in these pictures are the same age. The Toads are twice the size of the turkeys the same age.


I am hoping I have a male and female white toad. I would love to mate them for 2nd generation toads!
