First Run of Cornish Cross Meat Birds and Super Excited!

This is my basic building unit, It takes about 15 minutes to build one. because I putz too much.



And here they are assembled into my new brooder for my CX's.

I use the same pieces for the cover, but on some of the covers I use chicken netting instead of hardware cloth like on the sides.



Hopefully tomorrow or the next day I will have this filled with feathery meatballs.

Ralph that's the law here alsne of the biggest arguments that me and the local law enforcement have gotten into was over my pond and PEOPLE stealing my fish. I spent 1000$ stocking it. I spend on average 150$ a month feeding my fish. It's a stock pond.The same laws that govern livestock should cover my fish. They told me to call the game warden. To date they've issued 5 trespass warnings. I'm on record as stating the next person that is on my property trying to remove my property will be shot. Word got around real fast.

NO MM, 15 minutes to make a "panel". Once the panels are made it takes about 15 minutes to assemble them. I can make them into any shape and length I want. It will become the "tractor" part of my run later.

AAAAHHHH, I see. Whew. For a minute there I thought you were some sort of building savant. Still pretty good time though!

I still can't tell. I'm feeding twice a day. Since i can tell the giants and cornish when they get a belly full I remove the feed. They are all extremely active digging down into the pine shavings as deep as they are tall

Ahh You do that differently than me, What you see on the floor is what they get for the first few days. I hate to have them walking through shavings when they are so small, I will add more when they get a little better on there feet and have got the eating thing down pat. Some areas will be bare cement for the first few days.

It makes me so happy to watch the "frankenbirds" act like normal chickens! Way to raise 'em right.

Ralph none of them seem to be having issues YET. They suprise me how well they get around. I'm hoping to move them to the coop pen in two weeks or less.
