First Run of Cornish Cross Meat Birds and Super Excited!

Jessica, Not trying to pry. so tell me to go to hades if you want. I am wondering what you get for a dozen eggs when you wholesale them. I have been thinking about this after visiting the grocery store the other day and looking at egg prices. They were selling for $2.79 a dozen. There is no way I could make money wholesaling with that retail price. I know they are factory eggs and the chickens are fed just so much and certain food values to produce eggs and make chicken life suck. Anyways I was wondering what you get selling good eggs from happy chickens wholesale..
My eggs wholesale for $4.50. Don't look at the factory farmed egg prices. Look at local farm fresh egg prices. If there aren't any, than I'd look at the organic brown egg prices on the shelf and plan from there. However, make sure your final price is higher than those eggs. Those are factory farmed eggs too with fancy labels making people think they aren't. Since you are paying 10 times the feed costs that they are and actually raising your birds with love outdoors, you deserve a premium.

Bert's daughter is a lovely girl!

CUTENESS ALERT!!

I've got chicks! EE's and Golden Comets! Here are our 70 adorable chicks. So as to be good boys and girls thus following our zoning that our good county people so nicely bestowed upon us the number of chickens I can have on the property that I own and pay taxes on so that they have jobs. (terrible run-on sentence) I get to raise batches of 70 chicks all year instead of a large batch only once thus producing tons of wet, stinky, chicken manure ALL YEAR to spread about my pasture and vegetation. Yay! Someone should have kept the can of worms sealed.

They are cute!! I had one of my neighbors complain about my geese the other day. I told her I was suprised she could hear them over her yapping dogs. Then asked her if she had noticed the cute 33 chicks I had with the the geese. She hadn't. Told her I was working on fence so I could get ANOTHER 50 in September. I really enjoyed the look on her face

VERY CUTE

One of my new EEs has markings like a white tiger. I have to get a close up of her. She is adorable! I love seeing the EE chicks mixed in with the little reds. It melts my heart.

JR - I hate yapping dogs! Why do people with yapping dogs not seem to hear it? Yet, they are always the crabby old ladies to complain about any noise you make.

I am at the point that I really don't like people and so many things going on these days.

My wife allmost called the sheriff. They had three of them crammed into a kennel way to small from daylight to dark in one spot. I guess they didn't realize the sun moves. Her daughter came to visit and the kennel disappeared.

Maybe they were baking FooFoo dog for supper baked in the traditional sun oven method......

Jessica I love you chicks! I am thinking you should compost the droppings before spreading it on the field. I would suggest a place along their fence line as close to their house as possible. That way you get twice the bang out of each poop. Once while it composts and a second when you spread it..

Quote: Oh, I'm so in want of chicks! Cuteness overload indeed! I love my EEs and I miss having chicks...Le Sigh of Longing here! Next spring, meaties and eggers...

In other news, I'm practicing with my bow, there are a few cute fuzzy bunnies in my front yard that have eaten the daisies one too many times. I warned them. Anyone have a good rabbit recipe, and know how long I have to let it rest?
