First Run of Cornish Cross Meat Birds and Super Excited!

OK ive got replies for my favorite, well, replies!
1)

I thought pullets also. I'd rather have pullets. They may take a little longer to hit the weight but its what I prefer.

i dont really know whitch i prefer... i dont even know witch are boys and witch are girls!
2)

I'm a little apprehensive about the turkeys. They are smarter than the roosters. They KNOW something is up.

My idea for the rustic broiler began when I was looking for Sasso breeders, and came across CobbSasso, a cross between a conventional Cobb500 rooster and a rustic brown female from Sasso.
The image of the CobbSasso was appealing, it appeared as large of a Cornish Cross yet with rustic traits. The birds are supposedly extremely rustic and lively. Although I could easily come across the Cobb500 rooster as many hatcheries sell this cx strain, I can't find Sasso. So I resorted to a rustic brown female, which was more avalible, the Novogen. I'm hoping these birds end up like CobbSasso, but I don't know what to call them. You guys can choose a name if you like. As you all have more broiler experience than me, any feedback and suggestions would be appreciated.

My mom thinks it would be a good idea to get some cx to put underneath one of our broodies, but from what l've heard, they have many health issues. So l'm thinking that if there is a better meat chicken if we go to the store, then l would prefer that. l've only had 2 chicks die on me, l want to keep that number low.

another chickens leg wouldn't support him. It looks a bit better now, so do you think he just hurt it, or does he need 2 go on a diet? he didn't drink much water though.

Yes, l will take that into consideration, and will follow your advice. l kind of like the Cornish looks, so l think that l'll push for that, and maybe do a breeding program to try to get them healthier. Such fun!

Yes there is also a cross with a Dark Cornish Rooster on a Light Sussex
