First snake!

Saw my first snake of the year. I was mowing near the edge of my property along the fence line, and saw some movement. I stopped the mower, and saw a beautiful little black racer, probably 2 1/2 to 3 feet long. Just moseying along, taking his sweet little time. Very pretty. Was glad to see him, havent seen many of them over the years.

I saw one today too! Right out my front door. It was pretty long, but very thin. Glad I used 1/2" hardware cloth on the entire coop/run. I only have to worry about the pygmy rattlers. They can fit through the wire.

Thanks for not killing the snake.

I'm glad I'm not prone to violence. Otherwise everyone in arms reach that tells me they killed a harmless snake would get a punch in the nose
