Today I was given a free fertile emu egg too hatch, (The male emu has not shown any signs of wanting too hatch the eggs) and will hopefully get maybe three more from the same person next week. SUPER excited bout incubating it. Am about too incubate it at 97.5 degrees, at 33 present humidity. the egg weighs a whopping 630 grams, or 1.4 lb! and is a deep green, totally beautiful. Follow this thread too get day by day info on this 55 day hatching journey!

No I haven't but have always wanted too. I hope this egg hatches, I'll be posting egg photos soon.

First full day of incubation went without problem. when I woke up this morning too turn the egg, the temp was up too 98 degrees(I had set it too 97.5) and was a lil scared it that would mess everything up, but I trust it didn't. here is a photo of the egg last night before putting it in the in

cubator.

Yeah, fertile emu eggs are about $30 an egg where I live. But I was given this one for free, (and the upcoming 2-3)! which is awesome!. I will totally post many pics when they hatch, and the process leading up too it.
