Ok Im a first timer here! I have a broody I'm convinced and she is laying in a low box and she is the only One who lays in this box. Always has been. SOOOO should I move her into a seated area or just leave her as she is? None of my other girls want to lay in that box. They like the higher ones.

Also being that she is about nine months old and a first time broody, how do I know she will not let herself starve to death? I NEVER see her off the nest. I have been taking her off because I was worried she was egg bound and when I take her off she would go eat and drink and her tail was up.

Also how do I know which eggs to put under her? She was sitting on NO eggs but I threw 3 random eggs in with her and she tucked them under her and layed on top of them!

This is so cute and I'm super excited...even though I DO NOT NEED anymore babies but who cares. What's one more!

Also my only mature rooster in with these girls is a black crested polish!!! Can he even fertilize Eggs from hens like BR's and faverelles and other larger birds?

Thanks so much I'm really excited

I'm sure she will get up to eat and drink when she needs to. Broody hens don't need to eat and drink very often, some of my hens went 2-3 days without.
If you put food and water nearby where she can see it, it should encourage her to refill now and then.
Eggs are up to you. If she's still in the beginning stages of broodiness see if you can get some fertile eggs for her too hatch.
