First time broody hen

Should I assume a first time broody hen will be bad/flighty? I’ve had lots of broody hens but older “experienced” ones. I have a 7 month old silkie sitting currently and considered buying some eggs to let her sit on but don’t want to spend the money if the first time birds sit they tend to be “bad” at it? Or should I assume she’ll do fine?

I don’t know how other flocks work, but I just had my first mama. She wasn’t even a year old yet, went broody, got very serious about it, so I let her. She is now the proud mama of three 6-week olds, and she has been the greatest mama!!! She’s amazing.

First time broodies can be bad and good. The first time is the “getting the hang of it” time. They’ll probably do well, but their next ones will most likely be better.
