Hello! I have a huge fluffy blue cochin hen who's broody for the first time. She's been really persistent so I found her a dozen fertile eggs and slid them in under her. She's a real pecker, so I wasn't able to just lift her and put them all properly under her. I figured that instinct would cause her to scoot them all under her and then they'd be fine. She's only covering about half, as far as I can tell. She could easily cover all 12 if she sat properly. Anyone have a hen do this?

YES. If you don`t take 3-4 eggs away you`ll end up with a poor hatch. What happens is the eggs get rotated to the cold air as she turns them. Eventually most of the eggs will get cold causing the poor hatch. Good luck........Pop
