My broody speckeldy has hatched 4 of her 5 eggs out this afternoon, wer all very very excited! theyr all fluffy fuzzballs! they are ancona's, im wondering what to do now? ive put speckeldy a pot of food and a bowl of water in the coop where she is (that she shares with 6 other hens) she has a section of the coop just for her, do i leave them to her to take care of? when i looked at them earlier one was out from under her and she nudged it back under her tum with her beak, so cute!!
when will they be coming out of the coop with mum? do i need to put some chick crumb in there for them? their day 21 was this coming tuesday so theyr early but from what i can see they all look of and cheeping away!
sorry to ramble on but im soooo excited about it all!

I think speckldy will take care of them just fine. Make sure the other chickens can't get to them. and Yes they will need chick food and water.

Speckeldy has the chickies under her atm as she still has one more egg to hatch, the rest of the chickens went to bed in their normal nesting box where speckeldy is and they didnt seem bothered when they heard cheeping noised coming from under mumma! she is pretty defensive anyways so dont think any other chicken will get close to her babies but i will check them before i go to bed tonight
