On friday, i noticed that my 2 year old buff was limping and had a swollen foot. I picked her up and checked her foot out and noticed a brown spot on the bottom of her foot- the size of a small nail head. At first that's what i thought it was, or a rock. Had my dh come over to hold her and i was able to pick it out with my fingernail. It was a small hard mass-plug. No puss or blood came out. Later that day i noticed the swelling had gone down a little, but not away. So i gave her a little pedicure- washed her feet in warm soapy water and then blotted hydrogen peroxide on the spot then neosporin and dressed with a little bandaid- which has amazingly stayed on as she can't tell it's there. After that, i have kept her in a cage with shavings, food and water.

This am i cleaned it again with peroxide, neosporin and finished with another bandaid and returned her to her cage.

My question is: how long will it take for all of the swelling to go down, is there anything else i should do to help her?

you did a fantastic job.... except for the peroxide.... peroxide can damage the new tissue forming... use saline or a Betadine, or a Dettol solution to clean the wound.

I would increase the protein intake to help the body re crow new tissue to close the wound, you may want to give her a anti biotic.. (i am not a big fan of meds if you done have to though)
