Tonight we ate our first home grown chicken tonight and it was amazing! We had a naked neck roo that was getting aggressive with us. I think next spring we're going to get a bunch of cornish x so we can have fresh organic chicken in the freezer.

Good for you

I love eating my own birds (sounds kind of wrong) but I enjoy knowing what they eat to make them healthy and the fact that I made sure they lived a happy life before they were killed (I only eat my culls and roos I don’t want and can’t get rid of)

Such a great feeling isn't it? We had our first last week and mmmm it was good. Tonight I made a soup from the bones and the feet, heart and gizzard - mmmmm x2!
