First of all... i'm still working on getting a light good enough to candle the eggs but the light I did have gave me some not so good news so far.

bantam egg 14 days- solid dark mass on one side and a light pocket on the other side. I don't think this egg is alive.

RIR eggs 7 days- I can see a shadow swirling around in there, but I'm pretty sure it's just the yoke.

RIR eggs 3 days- nothing yet, but I know it's a little too early to see anything. Though I know you can see veins by now, but my light isn't the best.

EE egg-3 days. status light isn't strong enough to go through the blue-green shell.

So i don't think any of my seven eggs are alive. but I'm not going to do anything until I get a better light. my Boyfriend is working on a light for me now and we're going to candle in a dark room so hopefully I can see a more positive sign.

    will keep you updated

an US$2 LED torch/flashlight should be able to work fine, but if you could have a projector, then, you can use the light to candle the egg.

until then, let's waiting for them. [IMG]

Well my boyfriend wrapped tinfoil around his huge flashlight and we ever able to funnel the light to a single burn-out-your-retina beam It was way easier to candle the eggs.

Bantam egg, 14 days.- dark on one side, light on the other. there is a dark mass in the shadowy side and i see veins. i don't know if it's alive or not.

RIR eggs, 7 days-. Two have veins and one has veins and a dark mass but it seems stuck to one side of the shell like it wasn't turned much.

RIR egss, 3 days- one has veins the other looks clear with a single, tiny dark spot floating near the shell.

EE egg, 3 days- Its still very hard to see in the dark colored shell but I was able to see a dark mass in the egg. the yoke I'm sure. I think i could make out some veins but I'm not sure.

all the eggs went back under my broody hen and I think I will candle again in two days.
