new guy here...I love this site and all the info on it...I hope to contribute as well

been wanting to raise chickens for a couple years and finally did it. Been building a coop and have a few chicks in a cardboard brooder...I'll be posting some pics of various stages of construction and try to get them on the coop page for all to see.

mainly wanting eggs and to learn some self-sufficiency stuff. farm skills are sadly dying in this country...

I have one of each and gonna see what happens...

the sex links and RIR are already outside in the coop at little 3 weeks. it's warm down here and got a heat lamp on at night...got six each of those (stupid TSC rules) so will need to re-home most of them since I'm over the city's chicken limit.
 
I'm new to BYC and wondered how well you are doing? I am a 20 hen momma and love to raise these chickens. My problem is right now, I have 3 setters taking up the nests so if you aren't through building, you might think of many more nests. We must have spoiled chickens for they want their nests just a certain way. We had three nests they wouldn't lay in them. So finally we put a board over the top to close them in more, now they are happy.
Just thought I'd give you a hello and maybe I can be of help to anyone. We have bard rock, buffs, and rhode Island reds .

Is that a 'hello' to anyone? I see you have a huge amount of posts! Guess I would like to see your coops and chickens. Where do I go?
