How is everyone's 2020 so far? Mine has been interesting to say the least. At the beginning of the year my grandmother came to live with my family (Myself, Signficant other and our three boys. Ten, eight, and soon to be two) after falling and breaking her back. She wanted something fluffy to pet. First it was a rabbit she wanted. We've had a few over the years. But we all eat eggs. So I suggested we get chickens instead. And so I told her I would find silkies for her to pet. I searched online for people nearby with chicks hatching. A lady close by contacted me on FB with two day old silkies. I brought home three cute chickies. My partner was so annoyed, we didn't have a coop built yet! (He kinda enjoys watching them now.) So we did some research and worked together on our first big project. We picked up our first three April 27th of 2020. Sadly on May 9th my grandmother passed away. We have since finished our chicken coop and have a total of 13 chickens. We have two silkies, two French black marans, a cuckoo maran, a red sex link, two red productions, Swedish flower, two olive eggers, and two blue marans.
