Hi! So excited
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? First time getting chickens, my chicks are 5 days old
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? 5 chicks
(3) What breeds do you have? Red sex link/golden comets
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? The research that I had to do prior to getting them really gave me a new found love and understanding of chickens and their behavior that I had no idea about before. I started thinking about it because I garden, I’ve been becoming more and more conscious of agriculture and animal care practices and and I wanted fresh eggs.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Gardening, woodwork, art (painting)
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. I work in healthcare, we have a small dog who can be found guarding the baby chicks and a cat who I’m hoping will deter rodent predators and everyone will be one big happy family. (The chicks are safe from the cat) I have a young child with special needs who has a fondness for farm animals and I’m so excited to watch them grow and become part of our family.
