My wife and I just got 8 chickens and decided to build our own coop and run. My wife being an engineer and my personal hero being Tim Allen means we way over-built this coop. I did not have any plans for this... it was all in my head. I searched this forum a lot for ideas so I am sure people will recognize some things here. Hope you all have a good day!!

So this is the first pic we took, framing and painting as we go. The dimensions are about 10ft long by 5 ft wide, by 6 feet tall at the top cross bar.

Here is the start of the coop itself.

    Nesting boxes frame.

    Another nesting box view.

    More framing.

More framing, siding, added the door and some hardware cloth.

    Wifey painting some siding...

    Chicken Coop Roost.

Closed in Coop with roost and linoleum tile floor for easier cleaning.

Added the plywood roof and nesting box door.

Coop access door and more hardware cloth. We also added hardware cloth to the bottom of the coop.

Nesting Box door with chain so it hang flat.

Closer view of inside the coop.

    Another coop picture.

Added the chicken ramp... you can see we've added some masonry sand.

    More sand.

Covered the nesting box and added some hardware.

    More siding.

This is a chicken run.. not a pug run..

This pug is always in the way... but so cute..

Last photo of the night. Almost done!

The next morning my wifey added the Baker Ranch part.

    Does anyone notice a pattern?

Feeding box... saw this online so I copied it.

6 of our 8 chickens. I honestly dont have a clue what kind they are... just chickens. lol
    [IMG]

Metal roofing over the nesting box.

Metal roofing over the rest of the coop / run.

Chickens drinking from the vertical nipples I have attached to my watering system.

    Coconut husk bedding.

Curious puppies... the pug is actually more curious than the red lab.

My makeshift watering system. It seems to work. Holds about 10 gallons of water.

This is how we fill the feed box in the coop.

Great job, now that is one AMAZING coop! I am just putting the finishing touches on my first build coop, a far cry from yours, but it will serve me and our flock well.
You have certainly employed alot of great ideas and options into your coop to make it bird & human friendly!!! Outstanding coop
