Hello!
My family just recently decided to bring pet chickens into our lives. We are picking up our chickens on the first weeks of August! We plan on getting 8 chickens. We put in special requests for silkie chickens! We will be selecting other breeds of chickens as well! I was just wondering if anyone has any advice on when we bring our chicks home for the first day! Is it okay to pick up baby chicks? Also if anyone has any name suggestions for chicks please feel free to leave them below. The last thing I was wondering was.. this may sound a little silly but is there a difference between white or brown eggs?
THANK YOU!!!!!! WE ARE SO EXCITED FOR THE NEWEST MEMBERS OF OUR FAMILY TO ARRIVE!!!

I'm sorry I don't have answers but

On the eggs, brown, white, blue, green, makes no difference in taste or nutrition!

As for picking up the chicks, it's hard, but I handle the chicks as little as possible for the first 2-3 days after they come home. They are sturdy little critters, but they have just been through a big move and need a little time to settle in. After the first few days, I easy the babies into being handled by holding each for just a few minutes 3 or 4 times a day. After a week of that, our little guys will sit with us while watching tv or playing on the computer. I have 2 chicks on the desk right now. lol
