We are first time raising chickens. We have 10 chicks that are 6 weeks old.
Our goal is to raise them for eggs.
We ordered our chicks from Mypet Chicken and I lost the copy with the breed types. But we have 5 black, 2 yellow and 3 brown. I picked the breeds out but can't find my paper.
Our favorite aspect for raising chickens is for harvesting eggs from chickens we trust.
Our hobby is Gardening - just getting started with this as well. Learning how to fight bugs without contaminating the plants. We would like to raise some mini goats. We will see how that may be possible. Heard goats were difficult to manage.
It's the two of us. We are grand and great grand parents with children living in California, Florida, Virginia, Georgia and New York.

Found BYC online when looking for answers about raising chickens.

Congratulations on getting your chicks, whatever the breed! I am often surprised how different they look as adults, compared to their coloring as babies.

I have had miniature goats for years. They're not IMPOSSIBLE to manage, but some are serious escape artists. In my experience, the easiest ones to contain have been my mini's who were crossed with fainters; they seem much less interested in climbing onto or over anything.

Welcome to BYC where there are a lot of good folks who are happy to share expertise and offer support!
