Hello, I live in Country Victoria, Australia, with my Husband, 3 Dalmatians and 4 cheeky chooks. I call them Chookens lol. They are my first chickens and I adore them so much. I decided to join Backyard chickens so I could learn more about them. Although I do love eating chicken, these girls and future girls will always be my pets. At the moment, one of my Barnevelders is the only one laying at them moment and she fluffs up her neck feathers when she sees me and makes loud clucking noises, I have no idea why? any idea's lol, Thank you so much for this site, I know it's going to be really helpful for me and my Darling chookens.
We have 2 Barnevelders and 2 white sussex, all 9 months old. They have a big area that is fenced off however I do take them out every day for a couple of hours to roam the big paddock that we have. We are looking at buying a few more chooks, they are just so addictive lol I love them.

Glad you joined the flock! BYC is a very informative and fun site for people who love chickens, ducks, turkey, quail, etc.. Barnevelders are sweet and so are Sussex!
