It is currently winter here around 25 degrees each day. I noticed a few days ago a chicken was acting tired, thought nothing of it and it slowly got worse, figured she was going through growing since she’s about 7-8 months old. Yesterday I really noticed how bad she was as she let me approach and pick her up without fuss, knew something was wrong but since it was evening I figured I’d let her sleep and check her out in the morning. Sure enough found her puffed up inside the coop with the mist misrible look on her face. I panicked like natural and separated her at once. Did a full checkup and no mites, lice, or anything wrong with crop. I waited till she pooped and referenced an online chart to diagnose it. Roundworms. I plan to get medication tomorrow to treat them. She is sleepy, puffed a bit, doesn’t eat, and makes me give her drinks. I put her in a dog cage in the garage with heat, water, and food. Hope she’ll be alright, please let me know if you have any suggestions! I plan to treat the WHOLE flock and put her back in when it’s cured. I know it’s caused some times by dirty coops and runs, I do my best to keep it cleaned I don’t know how this could have happened
oh well, pictures included. The breed is calico princess and she does have a feather mutation to were feathers grow in her let’s and feet haha
