Hello everyone!

My girlfriend and I are first time duck parents, and we figured it may be worth having an account here in case we have any questions / concerns about our little ones. I look forward to meeting other duck parents and getting insight on how to better their lives.

(1) Are you new to ducks / when did you first get ducks?
A: Extremely. We got our ducks on May 11th, 2018!

(2) How many ducks do you have right now?
Two female ducklings hatched May 8th, 2018. Their names are Daisy and Bella. So far, Daisy is very handleable and readily accepts breast scritches. Bella is really lazy, and loves to nap. She whines when Daisy is out of sight, but is getting used to being held alongside her sister.

(3) What breeds do you have?
Pekins!

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
How could I avoid finding out about BYC? It's had the top answers for every duck-related question I've come up with.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
My girlfriend is "artsy", and I'm a geek.
Some of our hobbies include gaming, painting, drawing, graphic design, and exploring the Oregon coast!

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
We also have a 30 lb. Sulcata Tortoise, a Golden Gecko, a High-White California Kingsnake, and a little 2 lb. dog!

G'Day from down under Cody :frowWelcome and Congratulations! :clap

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

BYC has Topic of the Week discussions which I have found to be a great resource, informative and sometimes entertaining; so definitely worth checking out. There are some down the bottom of the page which are duck specific.

Daisy & Bella are adorable! If you would like to share more Pictures and Stories of them and/or other critters, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)

Including your general location on your profile will assist others. Location, climate, season etc can be important factors when members are responding to any questions you may have and vice versa.

You might want to also Find Your State Thread and pop in and say hello.
