First time EE owner

i raise e.e. almost exclusively they are always a pain to distinguish. hahaha. last pic lookks like it could be a roo but to really tell u have to wait a lil look at the saddle annd tail feathers i have found thats really the best way. keep us posted hahaha but as i see it the rest look like pullets it is a guarentee though

I swear mine were close to 6mnths before I felt confident enough to officially call it. Looking at some old pics, they looked the same forever.

Your last one looks rooish. So hard to tell.

Guess my merlin needs his name changed

I swore I saw him/her/it trying to crow

Hopefully, I have a roo in the younger bunch. I just want one...

pretty sure the last one is a roo. As it was mentioned keep an eye on the saddle and tail feathers.

I'm curious about my two 7 wk olds. I'm just so surprised about how much they change. Mine started out looking like the chipmunks and now have a lot of white, black and grey. Oh - what is the saddle?

Attached pic at one week, 5 1/2 weeks and last night at 7 wks. Only 1 of my 10 chicks have the pea comb and that is the lighter EE who gave a funny squack last week and I thought maybe it was trying to crow but no squack since.

Eating grass last night (4-8-09) EE's are on the left and top right

My Ameracauna chicks (well, they are from the feed store so I guess they are EE's) are all different sizes. I have 2 pullets and a cockeral. The roo is much bigger than his girls and he stands more upright than the girls. They are 4 weeks old. But as far as comb or physical difference, I wouldn't be able to tell them apart if I didn't buy them sexed and the roo was marked.

Congrats on the EE's. I love mine, out of my first 6 which were supposed to all be pullets I got one cockerel. He is gorgeous. The other 3 I got are pullets. They will soon be a year old and their eggs are very pretty.
