hello all,
Well, I breed horses. Tennessee walkers. Seems much easier than chickens. LOL

my eggs have been in the incubator for 4 days now. This is my first time ever trying to hatch chicks, I hope it works. I only put in 10 eggs.
i have only had my chickens for a month. Rhode island reds are incubating.
seems ilke 21Days ae orveR when your waiting.
Any advice or tips for if they do hatch? Ok, let me be more positive, for WHEN they do hatch? Lol

Good luck with your first hatch.

Get a brooder ready around day 19-20.

Dont rush to get them out of the incubator, and extra day or two in there will be fine.

Make sure you get them on food and water when they go into the brooder, dipping the beaks in water seems to help get them geared for it.

What are you using for an incubator?

No name on the incubator, it's a square still air foam incubator. Someone let me borrow it. When I look for my incubator, I want one that the eggs turn themselves.

Thanks for the other advice for when the chicks hatch. I will have it ready for them. I will post pictures when the time comes.

Kelly
