We bought an old abandoned 12 acre horse farm right up the road from our house, and are building a coop in one end of the stables for the babies we bought. There are 19 (we hope) pullets and six bantams. Four or five of the Buff Orpingtons are ready to leave the brooder bins and go into the coop, so we need to finish it this weekend.

We started out with a shipment of assorted layers from Meyer Hatchery, and added to them from Tractor Supply.

We have about 8 Buff Orpingtons, 5 Black Australorps, 2 Barred Rocks, and we're still guessing what the rest might be, based on the information and pictures I have found here.

I think we have a Light Brown Leghorn and a Welsummer, but no idea about the rest.

The bantams were an impulse buy, but they're adorable! When I have enough posts to add pictures, I'll post them in the Identify the Chick forum.

It sounds like you have a bunch of cute chicks. They do grow fast, don't they?

Hope you like it here. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
