First time for eggs to hatch

My hen has laid ten eggs over the past week or so. She does not sit on them all the time. Will they still hatch or does she need to be on them for 21 days for them to hatch. How do i know if the eggs are not just rotting in the Florida heat. yes i have a rooster.

someone once told me that during a hot summer a hen layed at the side of her eggs all day and sat on them at night and they hatched it must have been too warm for her to sit and this was a uk summer so probably not as hot as it is where you are

the hen will lay a clutch of eggs then she will set full time
