First time free ranging/What sex are they? PICS

I agree with the majority. I myself am having a great time trying to figure mine out. So far I count 10 out of the 25 being roo's. That's not too bad a ratio in my book.

I could always send you eggs. I hear they are good layers but I'm not really sure... I've only had cochins, silkies, d'uccles, BRs and RIRs.
I'm trying my luck this year with Buttercups (only 3 weeks old right now) and these two.

Maybe one of my girls will go broody by then & we can work something out!

I don't know what I would do with roo's, though. I live in a housing development & I don't think my neighbors would go for the crowing at dawn!

I think you guys are right about Hotwing being a roo and Nugget being a pullet. Here I thought it was the other way around.
I let them out to free range with the big girls for the second time today. Everyone went back to the coop except the two BLRWs and Chicken Hawk (standard size buff cochin pictured at the beginning of this thread).
I brought out some tomatoes for them since I'm still working on gaining the Monsters' (the nickname for the two BLRWs) trust. Chicken Hawk ate most of the tomatoes but the Monsters ate some that I threw out to them. Chicken Hawk went running for a huge piece of tomato and ended up with it hanging half way out her mouth while trying to swallow it whole

.
Hotwing decided this was the time to steal the tomato from Chicken Hawk and ran right up to her. Of course Chicken Hawk chased Hotwing away.
To make a long story short, whenever the Monsters try to get anywhere near me, there's Chicken Hawk (who is always under my feet) running after them!!!
I finally just put her in the coop so the Monsters could have fun in peace!
But seeing how brave Hotwing is and how Nugget is a follower makes me believe that you all are correct. :thun
