I lost my 4.. 2 month old guineas.

Lastnight, I lost all 4, they didn't go back into their pen this time.. I looked for 2 hours, trees long grass everything.. nothing.

So I woke up at 5;37, right at sunrise, put some 'treats' out before I let my chickens/ducks out...

went back out at 6;30 and found my pied guinea but not the other 3.

It seemed to just be walking around, screaming for the others here and there...

What should I do? I have the other one locked up back into his pen but the other 3 are still MIA.

Its been at least 11 hours.. and now I am lost on what to do. :[

Any suggestions or should I just play the waiting company and see if they come around?

I'd leave the Pied locked up... it's calls may bring the other 3 home. If your birds are used to coming to a certain food call, start calling, shaking the feed scoop etc. If you have neighbors with poultry, go check over there for them. They may have wandered too far and got lost, or they may have been spooked by a predator and just kept going... or they could have been taken by predators. Hopefully they come home or you find them and not just find feather piles

Yeah me too! I did put on in a cage and left it outside for 10 mins and he called for a bit, then I put him back inside his pen (which they'll stay locked up till they are older!)

& then 2 hours later...I went outside to feed my girls some yogurt and noticed a little head in long grass.. it was another guinea!

I caught it and now thats 2 down 2 more to go!

Missing my darker one and my lavender guinea.. Crossing my fingers. They must have REALLY got spooked by something because I'm finding them in singles.. they should really be in a group..

They know enough to come around the barn but are really scared because they can't find their buddies.. Really hope I can find the other two.. I've got lots of food waiting for them.. :)

Glad you found another one. I think I'd try to cage trick again, with the 2 Guineas in it this time. If possible put it in an area that the others will be able to see/hear them... but also in a safe enough spot that you can keep an eye on the cage so nothing tries to get the 2 in the cage. If the other 2 are out there, they should come back to the 2 in the cage... and 2 Guineas calling now is a lot better than just 1. Good luck!
