Hi, everyone! This is my first time to incubate eggs and to post on BYC! I am really excited. My 9 year old daughter and I built our first still air incubator yesterday and we have been monitoring temps for the last 24 hours. I am going to build a second one with my class next week. I have done a lot of research and even found some water wigglers at the dollar tree. Currently my temp has been steady at 99-100 for the last 12 hours, however my humidity is running high, average of 74%. I have removed nearly all the water in the bator. Also, I live in Arkansas and the humidity is relatively high this time of year. Do any of you veterans have any tips or suggestions that may lead to a successful hatch? I am going to hatch duck and chicken eggs. My internal probe thermometers are reading about 1.5 degrees less than the outside temp is this normal? I haven't really been able to locate info on the desired internal temp. Thanks in advance!
