First Time Hatching Anyone With Me??

i'm having a little bit of a hard time getting it just right
and adding on that i'm a worrier doesn't help either

I can totally relate to the worrying part. That's me, too! I want everyone one of these eggs to hatch out all at once and everything go smoothly. But from reading on BYC, it never seems to for the experienced hatchers, so I'm probably in for some sleepless nights once hatching starts.

I'm actually doing a staggered hatch, latebloomer. I know it's probably crazy of me to try since it's my first time but I'm wanting some BSL chicks and I only have 4 BR hens. So I put in 19 eggs on 2/23, 18 were fertile and they will go into lockdown this Sunday, the 13th. I put in a second batch on 3/3 and will candle them the first time this Friday. I have a separate incubator for hatching, that's the only way I would attempt this, believe me. Does any of that make sense? I'm a horrible "explainer." LOL

My temps had stayed really good the whole time but now its all over the place!! Gahhh

I think I am going to have to put in a sponge.... I have all kinds of medical supplies, so I guess will use a syringe to drop water through the hole onto the sponge.

Ahhhh! Sorry you guys are having trouble during lockdown! Hang in there.....
I can't imagine a sponge fitting through the vent hole. If you have an LG, you could open one of the windows and slip it in there really fast. Make sure you've trimmed it to fit between the turner, if you're using one. I had to trim mine. Hope this works!
