How soon do you toss out broken egg shells?

When you clean out the incubator/hatcher, I presume.

Ok question do we count the day we put the eggs in incubator as day 1 and count to 18 days? or the next day after they get put in incubator as day 1?

Day 1 is 24 hours of incubation, so if you set them at 9:00AM Monday, Day 1 is at 9:00AM Tuesday. Just figure that they will hatch on the same day of the week as you set them, so if you count the day you set them as Day 1, then they will actually hatch on Day 22 which will also be a Monday. Does that make sense?

Set them at 9 pm on a Saturday and they started hatching at 1pm on Thursday!

HELP! i think i have 1 pip but the shell where it broke at is about just about 3/4ths of an inch from bottom is that normal or is it trying to come out the wrong end? and its a small bantom easter egger please anybody?
