I let two of my hens sit on their eggs for the first time. I wasn’t quite sure on the dates. I now know to mark them better. It seems to have been weeks and I was contemplating discarding them. I came home today after work and found one fully developed chick dead in the coop a little ways away from the nest. I was so upset. One is pipping. I put a play pen around the moms because I’m terrified that maybe one of my other chickens killed it? I have 9 hens and 2 roosters, mostly silkies. I assumed I shouldn’t move the moms and all 15 eggs. Any recommendations?

Definitely keep the flock away from them for a day or two so you can keep an eye on them for a while. Mama will abandon the other eggs when she is ready, unless you candle them, it's just a waiting game.
