First time hatching.... Ducklings, Home Made 'Bator

Here he/she is folks! Meet Kicker.

I started off with three eggs. One had a blood ring and was tossed. The two that were left were great but I could never get the humidity up past 45 percent in lock down (I even had 3 things of water and 2 sponges!!!). We also left for the two days that they were suppose to hatch on. This guy/gal broke shell Thursday afternoon and survived until we got back on Saturday afternoon. I had to help him out cause he was really shrink wrapped in there! The other one pipped internally but never broke the shell, not enough humidity!. I think if I was to do it all over again I would tape the joints of the trays with duct tape. I had to remove him/her to the breeder box pretty quickly because the air was blowing directly on it and it was shivering! I took this picture last night so Kicker is now about 4 days old and has a HUGE personality, and that is why I love ducks. It will be sitting on my bed and I will cup my hands and it will run over and sit in my hands like it's a little nest.

I have another one that should be going into lock down on Friday this week. any hints on humidity and how to pop it up to 60 would be great. I really want this one to hatch so that Kicker can have a little playmate.
