First time hatching! Egg cartons in Brinsea Maxi II?

Baby chick is looking good. And yes, We totally look one of our security cameras and set it up near the brooder so I can check on the chicks. My husband knew I probably wouldn't sleep last night (which means neither would he, ha!) because I'd constantly check on the baby chick to make sure he wasn't being picked on. This live feed helped a ton. My husband keeps it on the tv in the living room now just for fun. :p

It was okay, but very stressful. I'm not sure I'm cut out for this incubation business! I hatched 7 chicks total, and out of those 7, I had to help two chicks hatch that were shrink wrapped. I also had 4 or 5 chicks dead in the shell that never hatched. They were rocking around in the shell as the others were hatching, so I was sure they'd hatch eventually too, but they never even pipped. I feel bad - maybe if I had intervened sooner, they would have made it.

It's so strange that a few eggs never made any progress after 24+ hours, yet others managed to hatch completely on their own with no issue in a matter of 2-3 hours from first external pip to hatch.
