This is our first time hatching eggs and I’ve never seen this in the internet. It looks like it’s breaking the shell in little chunks and not making a ring around it like I see online.

She seems fine, just remember to keep the lid on the bator! A humidity drop could be fatal by shrink wrapping the chick in the membrane. How long ago did it start pipping?

I don't see any movement from inside the membrane and not sure if that’s a bad sign I did have the lid of earlier for maybe 2 min. Not sure if that’s fatal but I don’t see any movement and I’m a little nervous

That egg looks fine. It just hasn't started zipping yet. Leave it alone. If you're concerned try shining a bright flashlight at the egg. Or gently bump the incubator. This usually gets the chick chirping. Good luck with your hatch!

Thank you! The chick has been peeping and if I put it up to my ear I a bunch of tapping inside. I see a small crack going around the top off the egg. It looks like the chick has kind of rotated around and has been cracking the egg in a circle.

One other question when the chick is zipping is it’s beak just is the air sac or the whole body cause for this chick is beak is just on the air sac and it’s cracking around the edge of the air sac.
