Chuckles and Duckles
In the Brooder
My silkie roo, Greg, is a barred/cuckoo silkie. He has 2 grown hens, one white with a blushing of red(Peach), and another that is all red (Muffin).
My babies are hatching today my question is, will the babies eventually be barred/cuckoo, or will they show more of one color than another? Greg has lighter skin, as I assume he's a first generation barring, and his skin is more gray than black and his eyes are lighter. Also, Peach is frizzled. So will frizzle show up right away, or is it less likely to appear in her offspring? Is it possible I get a splash from this combination?
I'm in year 2 of being a chicken lady, so I'm just curious as I know barring is usually dominant, but Greg had to be a cross somewhere down the line to become barred.
